What is PGL?

PGL, which unofficially stands for "Parents Get Lost," is the UK's leading provider of children's holidays specialises in educational and adventurous outdoor activity camps and experiences. We tend to think of PGL as a school holiday superpower! It's a place where kids, teens, and even adults can escape into the great outdoors, make new friends, and try exciting activities like zipwire, rock climbing, and more. It's all about finding new experiences, boosting confidence, and creating lifelong memories. So, if you're up for an amazing adventure, PGL is the place to be.

With all-inclusive Kids’ Camps start from just £180 for 2 nights including your Family Lowdown discount, now is a really great time to book!

Who can go on a PGL Adventure Camp?

PGL camps cater to a uniquely wide range of age groups and interests and the minimum age to participate in activities being five and to attend residential camps without parental supervision is eight. The best part is that it is super easy to make friends, as the children are grouped by age, so they can socialise with their peers. PGL camps vary, based on the specific program or location and so the best thing to do is have a look at the activities and camps on offer to see what would be right for your child or family. PGL camps run during school holidays throughout the year, with May half term and Summer being the most popular times to visit.

Oh, and it is worth mentioning PGL have family holidays near Paris that include trips to Disneyland Paris. So if that was on your bucket list, now is the time to find out more.

So what is so special about PGL camps?

Where to begin? What really stands out for us is the unbelievable range of activities on offer - over 40 - that children (and their parents!) can participate in. The variety not only means that there really is something for everyone, but also that children can challenge themselves and try new things. We don't know any other provider that offers this range of activities onsite. PGL also offer specialist holidays so that they can build skills in specific areas such as cookery, horse riding and watersports, and which is a pretty unique offering in our view.

But one of the really important reasons to choose PGL is how easy it is to make friends. PGL is for 8-16 year olds who are grouped by age so all children can be with their peers. Making lifelong friendships is something PGL can offer!

Why is PGL a good choice for parents?

Well, the first thing to know is that parental feedback is brilliant with 88% of parents saying they would rebook with PGL and 95% of parents rating PGL 5* on TrustPilot. There are of course many more reasons why they're a great choice for families who want peace of mind. Firstly, they are all inclusive and so the price you see is the price you will pay - no added extras - and for that price there is a superb range of activities such as laser-tag, kayaking, abseiling, orienteering and much more. PGL prioritise wellbeing and so there is 24/7 pastoral care and support from their friendly team. The deposits to secure a spot are kept low at around £60pp and they are Ofsted, ABTA and BAPA accredited. Plus, you can even pay for Kids Adventure Camps in English centres with Childcare Vouchers or Tax Free Childcare enabling you to save money.

Where are PGL activities based?

PGL camps are based all over the UK and with 13 centres, you are bound to be within travelling distance to one of them. Meanwhile, Family Adventure Breaks are offered at two centres, one in Lincolnshire and one in Devon – and because all PGL camps are residential, even if it’s a drive away, for the experience of a lifetime we think it’s really worth it. If you want to see exactly where the camps are based, click HERE to find out more. The thing to remember about PGL Multi Activity Holidays and specialist camps like horse riding or cookery is that they are residential. And so even if it is a drive away, for the experience of a lifetime, we think it is really worth it.

What are PGL specialist holidays?

Specialist holidays allow children to spend more time on a particular interest and build skills in that area, as well as taking part in lots of activities to keep them busy at all times. For example PGL offer Pony Camps for all levels of experience and ability. Whether you want to give horse riding a try for the very first time, or have a few years' experience on the saddle, Pony Camp activities are suitable for all. Or if your kids love to learn new recipes or perhaps fancy themselves as the next big Bake Off star, they might enjoy a Cooking and Baking Camp. They'll get to learn loads of new skills and taste the rewards of your hard work.Plus, did we mention PGL offer Theme Park Camps? Yep! These camps enable children to visit theme parks including Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventure. Just don’t be surprised if they come back with their hair standing on end!

Did you know PGL do birthday parties?

Say goodbye to pass the parcel and hello to adventure! Yes, PGL run kids birthday parties and they are incredibly popular so if you're looking for a totally new experience for the birthday girl or boy, this could be just the ticket. PGL offers half or full day party packages for up to 12 kids. which includes downloadable party invitation, supervision and instruction from our fully trained staff, a delicious birthday cake and freshly prepared tasty lunch and/or dinner. Can whole families go on PGL camp?

YES! This is one of the unique aspects of PGL as they offer all inclusive activity camps for the whole family. With 2, 3 or 4 nights away, the whole family can create unforgettable memories together and the one thing you can bank on is that no one will be bored. And did we mention that all food is provided?
