About the event
Family Lowdown has teamed up with NHS England to bring you the FULL lowdown on careers within the NHS. We talk to REAL nurses and healthcare proefessionls to find out how they got to where they are now and how their career has changed their lives. They will be here to answer your live questions on working for the NHS and how really the NHS can work for you.
We will also be talking to Abi who is the careers information and quality lead for the NHS Health Careers team. She believes that high quality information is a powerful tool for making career decisions and enjoys highlighting the huge range of roles available in the NHS, many of which people don't know about. She is also passionate about raising awareness of the accessible and flexible routes into the NHS, so that anyone who shares its values and wants to join, can find a way to do so. A nurse by background, Abi's career in the NHS is now well into its third decade.
With 350 careers, the NHS offers one of the widest ranges of careers and prospects. Not only well suited to those looking to get back to work or a career change, Â the NHS also wants to inspire the next generation to consider a life-changing career in nursing. The NHS is actively recruiting nurses in particular and welcomes talented and passionate individuals to join its ranks, from all walks of life.
